Home Care Supply Acquires Medi-Rents, Inc.

BEAUMONT, TX, August 10, 2001 – Home Care Supply, Inc. (“HCS”), announced today the acquisition of Medi-Rents, Inc. of Boston, Massachusetts.

Medi-Rents, established in 1977 is an HME company with annual sales of over $20 million with locations in Boston, Massachusetts, Worcester, Massachusetts, Portland, Maine and Warwick, Rhode Island.

HCS, a Beaumont, Texas based diversified HME company, with annual revenues of $150 million (including Medi-Rents) and 52 locations in 12 states is the largest privately held HME supplier in the U.S.

Todd Christopher, Chairman and CEO of HCS said, "The acquisition of Medi-Rents brings HCS one of the premier HME companies, not just in the Northeast, but anywhere in the U.S.  Janet Sahr and the entire organization at Medi-Rents complement HCS perfectly from a cultural perspective, from a product mix standpoint and from a geographical tie into our New York and Philadelphia locations."

Janet Sahr, the owner of Medi-Rents, also commented that, "We are very proud of Medi-Rents and what we have built over the past twenty years, so when I decided to look for a buyer, I was very selective.  Home Care Supply and Medi-Rents share a lot of the same philosophy and commitment to excellence regarding service to our patients, customers, payors and employees.
